The project consisted of replacing 125mm chilled water header pipework. The current ABS pipework was rotten and leaking, due to it being an unsuitable material to carry water with such high chemicals substance.

Replaced with 125mm welded iron pipework.

Due to the chillers being detrimental to the hospital’s theatres, the pipework had to be measured, and then pre-fabricated off site in our workshop. We were given a window of 4 hours to change over which the team successfully completed in 3, exceeding the client’s expectations.

Pipework was hydraulically tested off site, ensuring limited downtime and any issues eliminated ready for installation.

Pipework was insulated using thermalite blocks and appropriatte PIB wrapped, sealed insulations.
